REHOBOTH — Fire destroyed a building containing several local businesses early Saturday morning.
The Rehoboth Fire Department responded to a two-alarm fire in the early morning hours on Saturday, according to a Facebook post.
WPRI.com reported that Chief Frank Barresi said the department got the call around 3 a.m.
The building contained several businesses, including Anawan Brewing Company, the town craft beermaker that had just recently opened a taproom in Rehoboth.
House of Fitness Rehoboth also shared the building. They posted the news “with great sadness” on their Facebook page on Saturday, saying, “I’m grateful that no one was hurt. I’m grateful for our first responders. I’m grateful for my family and friends who will support me over the next few days. I’m grateful for my staff Devan and Raquel. I’m grateful for my clients. I’m grateful for so many reasons.”
According to WPRI, Barresi also said that there was a construction company in the building.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
