Leeds handed major fitness boost ahead of Manchester United visit

Leeds United have been dealt a massive boost ahead of their clash with Manchester United after Stuart Dallas returned to first-team training.

The Northern Ireland international was last weekend forced to withdraw inside 10 minutes of their defeat against Everton after a coming together with Toffees attacker Alex Iwobi.

Dallas has been crucial to Bielsa’s side and had been almost ever-present this season, playing all but 12 minutes of the campaign, before his early substitution at Goodison Park.

The 30-year-old has been absent from training this week and Marcelo Bielsa kept his cards close to his chest when discussing the visit of Ralf Rangnick’s side on Sunday.

He said: “Dallas is recovering, he hasn’t been discarded from Sunday’s game.”

However, footage released by the club showing the versatile player amongst the first-team session said to be filmed on Wednesday or Thursday, as per Leeds Live.

Amongst the clips, danger man Raphinha was involved as he looks to mark the game with a positive influence, whilst former United attacker Daniel James – who featured for United in the opening day rout of Leeds – will be looking to get one over on his former side.

The news of Dallas’ return comes as a much-needed boost for Bielsa who was forced to name six U23s on the bench last weekend.

Although, if their injury problems persist and he needs to call upon their youngsters again, they will be slightly disadvantaged after they missed preparations for Sunday’s game ahead of their U23s clash with Brighton – which was postponed.
