Daytona Beach pools

The City of Daytona Beach offers swimming pool access at the Campbell Aquatic Center, 400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., and the Cypress Aquatic Center, 981 George W. Engram Blvd.

Cypress has swim hours from noon. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for 17 years old and younger.

Campbell has swim hours from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. Admission is $1.

At both centers, children 5 years and younger must be accompanied in the water by a parent or responsible supervisor who is at least 16 years old. For more information, call (386) 671-8392 or visit codb.us/pools/.

Nova Community Center

Nova Community Center is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at 440 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

Pickleball and basketball are offered Monday to Saturday. Basketball is played Sunday.

Reservations are necessary. The cost is free for residents or $4 daily for yearly membership for non-residents.

South Ormond Neighborhood Center

South Ormond Neighborhood Center is open from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 176 Division Ave., Ormond Beach.

The center has baseball fields, outdoor tennis and basketball.

Ormond Beach Tennis Center

Ormond Beach Tennis Center is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday to Sunday at 38 E. Granada Blvd.

It offers play for members and non-members, and classes seven days a week.

YSG Community Center activities

Kung-fu and Tai-Chi classes are offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at The Yvonne Scarlett-Golden Cultural and Educational Center, 1000 Vine St., Daytona Beach. The fee is $40 per month.

Open gym for Daytona Beach residents to play basketball is from from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, and from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the center.

Yoga in the Gallery

Yoga in the Gallery will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, 352 S. Nova Road, Daytona Beach.

Meet in the lobby. Class is open to all experience levels. Participants should bring a mat, towel and water. Space is limited and registration is required. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

Senior fitness class

A senior fitness class will meet at 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at the Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive.

The class will focus on cardio, strength and balance. Handheld weights, and resistance bands and ball will be used. All equipment provided. Participants should bring a water bottle.

New chair yoga classes in the Shores

Chair Yoga classes are offered from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Daytona Beach Shores Community Center at 3000 Bellemead Drive.

The class is for those who will practice seated and standing poses using a chair for support to help improve balance, posture, energy, breathing, strength, flexibility and relaxation.

The center also offers Gentle Yoga classes from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays with floor to standing poses. Yoga classes are taught by Mardi Williams, a certified yoga teacher.

The cost is $8. Daytona Beach Shores residency and membership are not required.

Senior fitness class

Synergy Senior Fitness Classes with Senior Fitness Specialist Artie Gardella will meet at noon Fridays at First Baptist Church of Port Orange at 316 Church St.

The Hub on Canal

The Hub on Canal offers fitness classes at 132 Canal St., New Smyrna Beach.

A gentle yoga class with Becky Collins will meet from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. Beginners are welcome. Suitable for ages 10 and older. Limited to 11 students. Gateway Center for the Arts will host Vinyas Flow yoga classes at 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at at 880 N. U.S. 17/92, DeBary.

Tuesdays are Vinyasa Flow A flow of movements using the breath to connect to the body. Build strength and stability, detoxify the body.

Thursdays are Gentle Vinyasa Flow targeting slow gentle movement, breath work, and flexibility.

Daily Mile in Deltona

Deltona Parks & Recreation will offer the The Daily Mile at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in March and April. Free.

Walk at least one mile with Deltona Parks & Recreation staff at the walking trail at Wes Crile Park, 1537 Norbert Terrace.

Medical experts suggest that just one brisk walk per day helps maintain a healthy weight and prevents many adverse medical conditions.
