Three new businesses — Taste of Thai, Teaspoon and Mayweather Boxing + Fitness — have signed leases for the 4S Commons Town Center.
No opening dates have been announced.
“All are in the process of obtaining permits,” said Kelley Thene, senior property manager with Regency Centers.
The shopping center bordered by Rancho Bernardo Road, Camino del Norte and Dove Canyon Road in 4S Ranch is among Regency Centers’ properties.
Taste of Thai and Mayweather Boxing will be opening next to each other, with the restaurant in Suite 122 and fitness center in Suite 121. Mayweather will be in the former Geppetto’s toy store location. They will share the same building as Capri Blu, which is in Suite 120 at 10436 Craftsman Way.
Taste of Thai has been serving San Diego since 1988, its website says. The restaurant describes its offerings as “Exotic Thai dishes together with a delicate balance of the spices and fresh ingredients, creates a sophisticated, delicious and unique dining adventure.”
Owners Val and Art Habbestad have operated their location in Hillcrest for around 33 years. They opened a second location in Del Mar in 1997, but according to media accounts it was destroyed in a fire in 2019.
The restaurant chain lists several honors from the San Diego Restaurant Association, Zagat Survey and multiple publications, including The San Diego Union-Tribune’s “San Diego’s Best Thai Reader’s Poll.”
Mayweather’s company website lists locations throughout the United States. Its franchise locations are part of a partnership with former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather “to deliver the gold standard in boxing group fitness.” It says the locations deliver “an immersive training experience utilizing industry-leading programs, technology and content.”
The company’s high-energy boxing group fitness classes are designed to increase fitness while building strength and confidence and are for all fitness levels and ages, the website says.
Teaspoon is coming to 10550 Craftsman Way, Suite 183, in the space between Baskin-Robbins and The Avenue Home Collective.
Teaspoon specializes in handcrafted beverages. It offers a wide variety of teas mixed with various flavors and ingredients, according to the company’s online menu. Select locations also offer gluten-friendly macarons.
The company began in Los Altos and the website lists many locations in Southern and Northern California, plus a few in Nevada, Texas and Alabama.
